Back Cover Text:
A shallow look would define Elsebeth Lavold’s The Sugar & Spice Collection as a Hempathy version of her previous Small Things Matter book, but it is so much more! With this collection, Elsebeth breaks her own record for number of designs within one book by some margin: chic accessories, decorative items for your home, and an abundance of beautiful and versatile knitwear with the usual Lavold mixture of easy knitting and challenges for the skilled knitter.
The front cover photo is a good indicator: The hat Cardamom, sharing its basic design with three other versions shown in the book, is combined with Rosemary, a gorgeous top that also has a “sister” with shared design elements but a completely different “personality”. On the back cover, Ginger is a good example of Elsebeth Lavold’s excellent craftsmanship and technical skills, untraditionally used in a traditional cardigan.
There is obviously no end to her creative flow. She shows a beautiful shawl, Olive, that can also be used as a table runner, and a dazzling top, Mint, that can double as a shopping net just by tying a knot. There should be something for your needles in The Sugar & Spice Collection regardless of whether you prefer your knitting hot or sweet.
